This class starts in the morning with Introduction To Firearms and then transitions into the License To Carry class in the afternoon. All dates/locations for Combo match dates/locations for Intro to Firearms.
FOR THE RANGE (INTRO TO FIREARMS PORTION), YOU EACH NEED TO BRING:
-- Equipment Needed: For Intro to Firearms, if you will be shooting one of our guns, bring 50 rounds of 9mm, 380 ACP or 38 special ammo (or a little of each). If you are bringing your own gun, you will need 50 rounds of appropriate ammo for this portion of the day
-- Eye protection and over-the-ear hearing protection (no earplugs). We have a few pairs of "loaners". It is best if you can bring your own, but if you need to borrow ours, please let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. These are first-come, first-served
-- Suggested: Please wear range/weather appropriate clothing and footwear. For safety reasons, no open-toed shoes, clogs or flip flops are allowed. Hat. Sunscreen. Bug repellant. We strongly recommend you bring a lawn chair so you are not required to stand the entire time.
FOR THE LTC RANGE QUALIFICATION, YOU EACH NEED TO BRING:
-- Handgun: Please bring a reliable handgun, .32 caliber or greater. If you are qualifying with a semi-automatic handgun, please bring at least 1 working magazine. If you wish to qualify with a revolver, you may do so. Qualifying with either a semi-automatic handgun *or* a revolver allows you to carry semi-auto or revolver after you are licensed. You do not need to own the handgun that you qualify with. You are allowed to borrow one for the day. We, however, do not have handguns available for borrowing or renting and cannot supply one for you.
-- At least 50 rounds of factory S.A.A.M.I spec ammunition per student (no reloads allowed for CHL qualification), in addition to your Intro to Firearms ammunition. If you do not pass your range qualification the day of class, we can arrange to meet you for a 2nd attempt (that day if you have an extra 50 rounds of ammo & all students are in agreement). If you do not already have your ammunition, please, please, please start looking for it right now. It has been difficult to find lately, and we are not set up to supply ammo to students. If you are unable to find ammo, however, go ahead and come to class. The range owner sometimes has ammo for sale, or we'll take care of your qualification another day.
CLASS / FEE INCLUDES:
-- Certification of Completion (CHL-100) after you pass a written test and your range qualification.
-- Range fee
-- Target(s) for Intro class and CHL range qualification
-- Texas CHL Packet, Applications & Paperwork (if you need/want it & request it before class): Although a paper application to the state is perfectly acceptable, we recommend that our students do the online application that can be found at the DPS Concealed Handgun License website ( http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/chl/index.htm# ). Doing the application online significantly speeds up the process. ***The cost of applying to the state is *not* included in our fee.*** If you elect to do the online process, you can elect to set an appointment to have your fingerprints done at the location of your choice. All fingerprints are done now through a company selected by the state and they have locations across the state. ***The cost for the fingerprints is *not* included in our fee.*** It is charged by the company that does the fingerprints at the time they do them. The last price we heard was $9.95, but that is subject to change.
COURSE REGISTRATION POLICY: Class size is limited, so we cannot hold a spot until it has been paid for. Upon submitting your class registration, you must put your class into your shopping cart and check out *or* contact us by phone or email to make other payment arrangements (mailing in check/money order, paying by cash, etc). Your registration will be confirmed within 48 hours after your payment is received, and you will receive an e-mail with the information you need to prepare for class. E-mail: CarryAHandgun@yahoo.com or call 214-802-8031 for more information.
Once a class is scheduled, we will make every effort to hold that class. We do, however, reserve the right to cancel class if paid registration is too low. We will make every effort to *not* cancel any classes.
Terms and conditions (as stated on invoices) effective on and after 8/14/2016:
CANCELLATION/REFUND/RESCHEDULE:
Full Refund: Cancel 14 days (or more) before class begins.
50% Refund: Cancel 7-13 days before class begins.
If cancellation not received by 7 days before class begins, no refund will be processed. We will, however, happily roll your registration forward to the next class available and continue to do so until you make it to class.
If you request to roll your class forward rather than requesting a refund, we will roll it forward indefinitely until you make it to class, but it will not be refunded after the original cancellation due date for the initial class date you registered for.
CANCELLATION/REFUND/RESCHEDULE FOR PROMOTIONAL PRICES:
If your registration was purchased as part of a promotion (i.e., GUN SHOW SPECIAL, TLS SPECIAL, etc.), no refund will be processed. However, if you cannot make it to the date you have registered for, we are happy to roll your registration forward to the next class available and continue to do so until you make it to class.
MINIMUM CLASS SIZE: We need enough registered/paid students for class to be profitable, or the class will not "make". If the minimum number is not achieved by 3 days prior to the scheduled date, the class will be cancelled and all registered students will be notified via email. All registered students will be allowed to reschedule for a future class at no additional charge if we cancel.
